{"id":4967,"date":"2018-04-02T19:13:20","date_gmt":"2018-04-02T22:13:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/barker.edu.ar\/web2\/?p=4967"},"modified":"2018-04-02T19:18:23","modified_gmt":"2018-04-02T22:18:23","slug":"virtual-field-trip-to-the-smithsonian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/barker.edu.ar\/web2\/virtual-field-trip-to-the-smithsonian\/","title":{"rendered":"Virtual Field Trip to the Smithsonian"},"content":{"rendered":"[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]During March, 3<\/span>rd<\/span> formers went <\/span>beyond the classroom walls and into some of the world’s most iconic locations for our ongoing project on Dinosaurs: <\/span>The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][mk_message_box type=”comment-message”]A virtual field trip is a guided exploration through the world wide web that organizes a collection of pre-screened, thematically based web pages into a structured online learning experience.[\/mk_message_box][vc_column_text]This Education Virtual Field Trip was fun, educational, and very realistic!\u00a0<\/span>Students brought their luggage, sunglasses, curiosity and <\/span>acted out<\/b> the whole trip. <\/span><\/p>\n

  • We planned our trip in <\/span>Google Maps<\/b>. (We situated the museum in the map, decided which means of transport we were supposed to take and calculated how long it would take)<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Once we were ready, we went to the airport, checked in and boarded the plane. We watched the <\/span>Airline\u00b4s safety video, <\/b>and took off.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • We landed in Washington, and went to the Smithsonian. \u00a0The museum offered a free online tour of some of its most important and popular exhibits, such as <\/span>Dinosaurs<\/b>. Students could take a 360-degree look at the museum, and click around the rare facts to get additional information.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Once the tour was over, we had a <\/span>Picnic<\/b>\u00a0and flew back to Barker College.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    This activity was all in all \u00a0amazing as students could undergo, not only a Museum activity , but also <\/span>situations they may encounter during a trip.<\/b><\/p>\n

    Very soon, we\u2019ll visit the \u201c <\/span>Museo de Ciencias Naturales Bernardino Rivadavia<\/b>\u201d, where our students will experience a <\/span>Guided Tour in English<\/b>. <\/span><\/p>\n
